I used to love barn dances, so I might come along to this one just to watch everyone else – it’s been many years since I actually attempted to do this vigorous workout myself!
Hi Inge, I’m a fiddler in the workshop band and we’ve done this a few times now. It’s hilarious to play for and to watch and Laurel is a great caller. All the fun is in the attempt rather than getting it right, and you’re right, it is a good workout. I particularly like watching sets where children get into the dances and everyone starts to laugh and look young and happy – so it’s a kind of face-lift, too.
