About the West Ealing Neighbours Book Club

WEN’s reading group meet at the Star and Anchor pub on the last Wednesday of each month at 7:30pm, and review a chosen book in a relaxed and friendly environment.  It’s a great way to meet new people and everyone is welcome, so if you enjoy reading or want to get into reading regularly come along.

Getting a copy of the book is easy as West Ealing Library order in extra copies of the chosen book each month for the group.  If you do have any questions, contact me, Sarah at wenreadinggroup@live.co.uk

  1. I just wanted to say that I enjoyed discussing Tom Sawyer and was delighted to hear that the group had enjoyed it so much.

So I will see you all at the end of Aug, I have already started Starter got 10 and it is a really quick read.

    • I talked to a ten year old who’d read it too recently and loved it, so it really does work as a children’s novel too.

I started reading ‘Starter for Ten’ today. There’s just no arguing with: ‘if you’re a fan of Kate Bush, Charles Dickens, Scrabble, David Attenborough and University Challenge, then there’s not much out there for you in terms of a youth movement.’

Looks like we’ve got ourselves a few easy reads, this month and last.
See you in a few weeks.

  2. Hello, I am in West Ealing and have just started an online Book Club called The Brilliant Book Club if anyone fancies joining in as well as in your one. There are many local people in it already but also it is open to people worldwide and there is no commitment to read every book or comment online. You can just read when you want to and chirp in if you like! Hope to see some of you over there! Lucy

    • Hi Lucy,

Is this just on facebook? I found it there or is there another site too? Thanks for telling us about this.
