1. Review of AGM
Awaiting GA to edit podcast.  WEN thought that the format worked with the debate format followed by Q&A.

2. Save Ealing Centre

Schedules have changed, on 20th February Ken Livingstone will review the plans.  KL commissioned a review as there is less than 15% affordable housing in Glenkerrin's plans.  KL's  audit has come up with big differences in the figures justifying only 15%.  Gap to be discussed and Ken Livingstone will make a decision on the 20th February.

There is only one entry/exit into the site which makes it dangerous for pedestrians.  The entry is opposite Christchurch Junior School.  Possible that SEC will stand there with placards on the 23rd February and talk to the Councillors as they will be on walkabout.   28th February is the planning committee meeting.  This will be a panel, single item agenda and open to the public to be held in Victoria Hall in the Town Hall.  Final letters of complaint are being written by SEC.  Olympic committee written to the Head of Security at Scotland Yard re the potential threat on an attack on the building over the railway line.  If Glenkerrin have not accounted for this in their plans this could be a big issue.
Regeneration of the Green Man Estate
The Council are going to take the approach of affordable housing as well as private housing.  Adopted a similar approach in South Acton Estate, but the developers pulled out.  Interesting research has been undertaken on who does and does not want to go back to the Estate.  Good news they are going to do it properly, but it will be a long process.

3. SEAL
At a full Council Meeting on 5th February the Leader of the Council announced that the Council would spend £456,000 on renovating and updating some of our antique lampposts. This is a great victory for SEAL, and thanks are due to many SEAL workers and their efforts over the last 14 months. Thanks are also due to the Council Leader for his support and persistence.

A joint initiative by SEAL and Ealing Civic Society has revealed the possibility of further grant funding for lamppost renovation from English Heritage. Thanks go to Bob Gurd, ECS Chair for exploring this and putting EH''s Will Reading in touch with the Council's Highways boss Shahid Iqbal.

The SEAL challenge going forward is for SEAL, the Council and the chosen contractor to all work together and ensure that the money available is spent as wisely as possible in order to save as many lampposts and antiquely lit streets as possible.

4. West Ealing Business and Traders Group
Meeting 2 weeks ago, 6 people attended with Marianne Downie from the Council.  She hopes to have news soon of money to spend to improve the West Ealing shopping centre.  She arranged for Shahid Iqbal to visit the area (he is in charge on highways management)  Marianne is trying to put together a package of money to be spent on the High Street.

5. Ealing Dean CPZ
Meeting few weeks ago with interested parties, went through the plans which had a number of inaccuracies.  The chemist at Mattock Lane is campaigning as they provide Dosset boxes and may face problems with delivery as a result of CPZ.  Whoever re-draws the plans needs to get it right.  At any one time there are about 16 CPZ projects going on in Ealing.

6. Lido Junction Traffic Review
DH has e-mailed Frances Torto re suggestions and ideas from WEN. DH asked if he had heard back from the consultants.  There was a bad motorcycle accident the other day at the Lido Junction.

7. Jacob's Ladder
WEN need to decide whether to take it on as a project as it is such a dangerous  place.  DH asked if we should talk to Linda Collett at Green Man Lane residents her to elicit views.

DH to write to Network Rail about the fact that it is not maintained and is dangerous.

8, Abundance Project
Gill and Diane to visit Linda Massey hopefully this Saturday 9th February.

9. Waitrose and Sainsbury's
Planted 2 new trees in the front and obtaining quotes for the fence by the railway. The blinds in the front windows will be replaced..

Only half the trolleys still have pound coins at Sainsbury's.  DH wrote to Head Office to find out when the job will be finished.

12. AOB
They has been a lot of fuss by some residents in Westfield Rd with Euro Drive and wetting the pavements through cleaning their cars. This cleaning has now stopped and David has set up a meeting between the owner of Euro Drive and Ann Chapman.

There is going to be a police depot in Ealing, not sure on the location yet.  Police have produced an Asset Management Plan, Eric and David will respond.

DH to ask NG to put a local job forum on the website

Next meeting Saturday 8th March at the Drayton at 12.00pm - All members welcome.
