EL DG (FP) EH | 2. Regeneration and Council run meeting in West Ealing | Council has £2m to spend on regeneration, with £0.5m subject to public consultation but timescales are not clear - is this in the current financial year? Has the new West Ealing regeneration manger been appointed? What are the plans for a public meeting in West Ealing to discuss what could be done? |
DH raise with Marianne Downie | 3. Cookathon | To happen on Saturday and Sunday Boston Manor event went well - note to consider WEN doing something there next year. | GA
| 4. SEC/Dickens Yard/Arcadia | Planning application for Dickens Yard has been delayed with St.George's, the developer, submitting further changes. Public enquiry on 30/09 to address issue of public rights of way. WEN is concerned at the possibility of loss of ancient rights of way leading to a private gated development potentially off limits to all, including the police. Revised Glenkerrin proposals include a bus station on the East side of Haven Green, but SES is concerned it is too small. | EL to continue to represent WEN on SEC | 5. SEAL | Meeting with council and Cast Iron Company (refurbishment contractor) Trial in November (Conningsbury Road and Green Avenue) of refurbished post. | EL | 6. Ward forums | Initial forums well attendended (eg 100 people at Northfields). WEN to attend upcoming meetings: - Cleveland (17/09) - Walpole (17/09) - Ealing Broadway (2/10) - Elthorne (6/10) |

| 11. Green Man Estate redevelopment | Recognised to be a major change for West Ealing. WEN's objective is to understand the planning process and be informed on key areas to enable us to discuss them with the council at the appropriate time Key issues include housing density, road system, green space, facilities for children, schools, openness and connection to the neighbourhood. Committee was joined by Emily O'Meara and Sheila Proud EL gave an update: · Green Man estate built in 1978. 71% is 1-bedroom flats. The new council identified it as the second priority (after South Acton) for major work. · Six developers have been sent a detailed brief but the council have refused to release this. The site is not in the area of Ealing Metropolitan Centre, hence is covered by ordinary planning rules. E O has specific experience in this field and will try to obtain the brief. Upcoming meeting of the Green Man working group (19/10) will enable residents to express their views. Tibbald's report made some comments regarding the estate Council website has a Community Involvement Policy |
