www.westealingneighbours.org.uk Minutes of Meeting - West Ealing Neighbours - 17th October 2008 Present: David Highton - DH Diane Gill - DG Eric Leach - EL (part) Gill Adams- GA Frank Proud - FP Apologies: Nick Greenhalgh - NG Emma Hunter - EH Andrew Cazalet - AC 1. Regeneration meeting in West Ealing Nick West Oram, Regeneration Officer for West Ealing has discussed with DH a meeting mid to late November. DH has suggested looking at 3 key public spaces - St James, area in Melbourne Ave by Sainsbury's, Dean Gardens, and ideas on how to improve these public spaces with some of the £2m regeneration budget. It's vital to get the views of residents. 2. SEC 5th November is decision time on Dickens Yard. There is still the rights of way issue unresolved. SEC according to EL is achieving good work on alternative ideas. 3. Abundance and Ealing Arts and Crafts Fair The Craft Fair at St James is on the 8th November from 10-4. WEN will staff the jam/chutney stand and Gill will set up a collage explaining in pictorial detail how the Abundance project was shaped. WEN will publicise craft fair at the Farmers Market
4. SEAL Lyncroft Gardens and Green Avenue will soon have two styles of antique lampposts as a trial. As soon as the posts go up there will be lots of PR. There are only 2 contentious areas - the lampposts are higher therefore this could mean too much light getting in to bedrooms and some roads are already re-lit with new posts therefore they will not get the antique posts. 5. Ealing LINk
WEN has joined. David hoped to ask Allison if she was interested in being the WEN rep on the LINk committee (Later: this didn't work out and David's name went forward but unlikely to be voted on as 25 people stood for just 10 places) 6. Ealing Community and Police Consultative Group
