 Green Man Lane Estate
Introduction

The Green Man Lane Estate was built in West Ealing between 1971 and 1975.
The estate's area is bounded in the south by Singapore Road, to the north by
Endsleigh and Felix Roads, to the east by Green Man Lane and to the west by
Eccleston Road. There are 464 homes on the estate.
The estate is in a poor physical condition. There is
overcrowding and a lack of family homes along with a lack of youth facilities.
Residents have tried hard to improve the estate with some success but, rightly
or wrongly, it still has a reputation for anti-social behaviour, drug and
drunken related behaviour and crime. In August 2007 a Council funded survey
found that 59% of residents were dissatisfied with the estate as a place to
live.
The land is in public ownership. The Council has deemed the estate to be not fit for purpose
and wants to knock it down, and build new homes on the land.
The re-use and re-development of this large piece of this
public land is a once-in-a- generation opportunity not only to re-house
existing tenants in safe, appropriate housing
but also to revitalise the centre of West Ealing.
Below are links to documents related to the Green Man Estate and the Council's plans to demolish it; sell off the land; and build a bigger estate in its palce. |
