Simple Web Content Item Creation and Maintenance E-mail Print

There are only a few simple steps required to create and maintain website content items, e.g. news items.

Depending on whether or not you have publisher priviledges granted to you by the site administrator you will also be able to edit your own and existing documents using the simple edit mechanism.

A picture tells a thousand words - or at least that is what I am hoping.  So this tutorial is in the form of screen shots.

This tutorial covers:
1. How to create a news item.
2. How to maintain/edit an existing item.

1. How to create a news item.

For simple new news item creation - follow these steps:

1. You have to have a WEN Web Site login and have logged in. See Join WEN for more details.

2. Follow the sequence of numbers below:

Now the WEN editorial team will be emailed with the fact that you have created a new news item. They will review it and publish it and then it will show up in the site shortly afte.  (WEN editors - see "How to create/edit/maintain documents - the more sophisticated way" for detail on this process if you have forgotten).

Once published you'd see it here:

2. How to maintain/edit an existing item.

1. Login, and if you have edit priviledges just navigate the website to the item you want to change. Click the pencil icon by the title of the item, as illustrated above in "Screen shot 4 - illustration of document in homepage".  Click the pencil - edit the content - click Save - job done!
