One-time local resident Peter Loosley has written to WEN asking if anyone has memories of Ealing Dene Athletic Club. Peter writes: 'I was born in 1930, in the Nursing Home in Mattock Lane, which backed onto Walpole Park and attended Northfields School from 1934 until being evacuated on the 3rd September 1939 from West Ealing Station to Oxfordshire. In attempting to find out more about Ealing Dene Athletic Club,I came across your very interesting website and thought the photo attached might be of interest to your members. The Cricket team includes four Harmans and my father Jack Loosley,who married M.F. Harman's sister Elsie;so I became related to the Harmans. The EDACs also fielded a Football team,in which my father and uncle Maurice played. I believe the cricket photo was taken in Northfields School. Any information about the EDACS would be welcome.
