The West London Islamic Centre open day on Saturday 17th July gave the local community the chance to view and discuss its latest proposal for a new mosque on the existing site on the corner of Brownlow Road and Singapore Road. The plans show a 4-storey building with an approximately 8-storey minaret on the Brownlow Road corner. There is a domed atrium entrance and a public open area in front of the mosque. A public cafe and a small fitness centre are two of the community facilities planned for the new mosque. As yet there is no timescale for the building as funds need to be raised first. On the vexed question of parking, the mosque elders and officials will step up their efforts to encourage worshippers to come on foot or public transport as the vast majority of worshippers live in or close to West Ealing.
