Step 1:

Login as a Manager role user and navigate to the Admin link from the User Menu on the bottom left of the home page.

Select Components - Filemanager as illustrated below.

2. Select the downloads link...

3. Select the relevant area in the downloads directory, e.g. recent

4.  Select the upload option when you are in the directory where you wish to make the upload.

5.  Select the browse button next to an upload input box, as illustrated below, and find the file you wish to upload then hit open.

6. Once you have chosen the file and hit the UPLOAD button you will see the file in the list of files, as below.

Note 2 important steps:

1. Make a note of the filesize in bytes (shown in the circle). You will need this later.
2. Get the url to the newly uploaded file. This is to be used when you create the download link. To do this you need to move the mouse over the link in the filemanager window, press the right mouse button and selec tcopy shortcut. Then open an editor e.g. notepad and hit paste.

7. Select the Components -- Downloads option in the Admin page as shown below:

8. Select NEW

9. Enter the relevant details for the new download item.

i.e. create a name, choose a category, enter the filesize you stored in step 6, and put in the url as shown in the example.

e.g. from the notepad with the funny link in remove the first part of the string and add the second as the link,

i.e.

Then select create.

10. Now find the new download item (note: you may need to go to the last page of list of download items to find it) publish the download document, by default the newly created download document will have it's permission set to not published.

11.  The item should now show up and be accessible to public users in from the homepages Dowloads links, as shown below....
