Just noticed that Peacocks has shut down in the high street. Dean on the flower stall said it shut down suddenly on Friday. I know it’s been bought by Edinburgh Woollen Mill and some stores are likely to close down permanently. I hope the West Ealing store is just shut temporarily as it will be a loss to West Ealing let alone to everyone who was working there.
the leaseholder of peacocks is same as the closed £ shop (next door).
there is a plan to demolish these two buildings and build office space on the higher floors with street level to be small shop units/offices or a market type area .all units can be extended to suit.
the plan is to have shop windows and entrances on melbourne avenue similar to greggs and the hair salon,we are waiting on tfl with regard to relocation of the bus stop outside the ex £ shop.
no residentail units are planned.
