I’ve just had a flier through my door for the new Sushi and Noodle Bar in West Ealing. So, the renovation work must be finished and the one-time Joey’s cafe in Leeland Road next to the Salvation Army is now the Sumo Sushi & Noodle Bar. It’s open from 12noon -3pm for lunch and 6-10.30pm for dinner and they do take-away and home delivery. If anyone tries it do please come back and write a review here for us.  Their website is www.sumooriental.com and has their menu and prices on it. Good luck to them.

  1. Sally and went there for lunch today and were quite impressed by the quality of the food. My Singapore noodles were a lovely mixture of different meats and veges, with the option of having chilli sauce which had just the right amount of heat.

Definitely would recommend. I really hope this place is the beginning of an evening renaissance for West Ealing, where it becomes a dinner destination as well as a place for shopping during the day. All we need now is a decent pub!

  2. I went to the restaurant for sushi with my husband and was surprised to find a place in west Ealing serving such good food. The sushi was fresh and I was amazed with the service. I highly recommend the place and will be going again. Finally a decent place to eat in not to far from my home in west Ealing.

  3. I read the reviews and west for dinner to the restaurant and cudn’t agree more. The food and service were excellent. The sushi was fresh and food was above expectation. I wud really recommend the tempura ice cream for desert. It was simply out of this world. Good luck to the restaurant!

  4. Nice to see a new restaurant in Leeland Road. Especially one serving up lovely Singapore Noodles and Sushi, not to mention the Thai Special Fried rice. All three of which me and the missus had for take away last night for about £15, took them about 10 mins to rustle it up. Good value lovely fresh food. I will definitely be going back. Friendly staff too.
Make sure you try them out, as we need to support these quality new business ventures in our neighbourhood.

  5. Took the family for a meal last night, great selection, fresh food, good price and you can bring your own alcohol a perfect combination. Kids loved the chicken noodles

  6. Just got back, was empty but hey its Monday, fancied Sushi for once (2 well know places in Ealing Common were closed)

everythign was delicious, think we ordered too much but the bill came to £13 each, bargain for dinner,

  7. Agree with all the positive comments posted above! A great little local restaurant – friendly service, nicely prepared food and excellent value. We visited on Friday evening and enjoyed two starters, two main courses and a dessert, all for £29. You can take your own wine if you wish and there is no corkage fee. Prawn dumplings, chilli squid, singapore noodles and thai green curry are all recommended!

Example of the friendliness of the service: at the moment only ice cream desserts are available but when we mentioned that my boyfriend is dairy intolerant, the manager later appeared with a special dessert for him which the chef had rustled up on the spot. They didnt even charge us for it, as ‘he was just trying something out’. How nice!

Please visit and spread the word, as they deserve to do well.

  8. I’m all for this new restaurant! The food is fresh and the menu is very well thought through. My partner and I went for dinner with our own wine and we were given great service. Very humble prices and staff. Must support our local business especially one that deserves to!

  9. After a long time i was down at West Ealing to visit a good friend of mine. My visit was short so i had to head back home, but on my way back i popped in the town and saw the Sumo Noodles bar.
The ambiance was great and the food was exceptionally fresh and tasty. I tried the octupus dish and what a dish it was. Not mentioning the service.
Finally one decent place to eat on a resonable price in west ealing. Definitly will be comming back.

  10. Went there for dinner with the family last Sunday and I’m so glad I did! The food was really as excellent as everyone had said on this website. You could practically taste the freshness. Couldn’t stop eating! Tried a range of starters and sushi – deep fried tofu was excellent as was the chilli squid, chicken wings and dumplings! For mains we had Nasi Goreng (fried rice), Pad Thai and Panda Chicken and sizzling Tofu and everything was as good as the starters. For dessert I couldn’t resist trying the fried tempura ice cream! I will definitely be going back again and have already made plans to go there for lunch with my brother on Friday! Food is excellent and service also. Definitely recommended!

  11. We r a family of four with a toddler and one 5 months old. My wife and I love sushi, but with the kids we had to make that extra efforts going yo ealing broadway which is the nearest place to have it. But now I can simply drive for 5 minutes, park the car outside the restaurant and enjoy a lovely meal. The food was delicious and the service is good. Saves me the hassle of a long journey! Their portions are good as well.

  12. Finally got there tonight, Saturday, with a friend for a catch-up. It was after 8 but the restaurant was very quiet. The service was very friendly. Whatever the mushrooms were in the chicken laksa, they were delicious, as was the whole meal. Would like to see more people eating in next time I go.

  13. Finally got to try the food last night when we had a take-away. Really tasty Thai green curry and Singapore noodles – good food and good value. Will definitely go back.

  14. Finally got round to ordering a takeaway on Saturday. They weren’t that busy in the restaurant but obviously very busy on the takeaway side as we had to wait 40 minutes! Fab food, only one criticism not really enough chicken in the Thai Green or Red curries I’m afraid. It wouldn’t stop me from ordering again and infact I would like to dine in too – fab West Ealing has finally got a great local eateries.

  15. Great fresh food. One of the best japanese and thai restaurant in the area. Fab service. Very friendly. Worth the money

  16. I went for lunch with a few friends last week and found the food to be ever so delightful. The salmon on sizzler was lovely and the service was good. I must admit that the restaurant wasn’t too busy but I’m not complaining as the girls and I got full attention! Will definitely be going back. I think the restaurant is doing fine on the take away end and people were rushing in and out with take away bags.

  17. Excellent food, great combination of tastes – sushi and curries and noodles and rice dishes, you can mix and match. Great prices, great service. You can take your own drink and they even put the beer in the fridge for when you want it. Had a good evening, relaxed, not rushed, time to catch up with old friends. Thoroughly enjoyable evening out.
